Wedding Bells are ringing!!!

Spring means BRIDES and BABIES!

Today - let's talk about brides!

I had the honor of creating the wedding invitations for my sister-in-law and oh what fun it was!  And quite simple really.

Thanks to My Digital Studio (MDS).

She showed me a couple of invitations that she liked and I put several of the things she liked into one.

Here's the back of the invitation:

I really am liking this Artisan Cut that MDS offers now - keeping right up with the trends.  It really adds flair to the invite, making it not like all the rest.

I also created a reply, with the return address already printed on the back, that way it eliminates the need for an extra envelope, which sometime can get lost....at least in my house!

My next MDS project is some graduation decor for a couple of friends of mine that have graduates this year!  I'll be sure to share with you what I come up with!

Now - go stamp something!

April Showers....My Digital Studio

What's a gal to do when she's been struck by the nasty bug and she's got a kid with double ear infection?

Grab the laptop, snuggle on the couch with a cup of hot tea, and get busy scrapbooking, of course!

Not that I got a lot done, but I think I could get used to this way of scrapbooking!  Why? You ask?

Well, heck - I can do this anywhere!  I don't need to take adhesive, paper, box of photos with me!  It's all on my 'puter!

This page came together pretty stinkin' easily!  Most everything came out of this week's download - April Showers.  And that all works perfectly for Aubrie's April Birth.  I wanted to be clever, since her middle name is Mae - April showers bring Mae Flowers......but I couldn't get it to sing to me.  So, cleverness, it went out the window.  I can't be clever when I feel like doo-doo!

I added some things from the Delicate Adornments kit, to help soften the page up a bit.

In the end, I'm pretty pleased with this page!  Hey - I've got another page done - I should be pleased right!!!

Technical Tuesday! My Digital Studio Scrapbook Page

Good Day!  Thought I'd whip together a scrapbook page for your pleasure today!  I need to get working on some scrapbooks, and have a feeling that the only way that's going to happen is with My Digital Studio.  The fact is that I'm so far behind....technically, I don't know that I've really ever started.  Well, I suppose I have.  I have about 5 pages done for Will and maybe 3 for Alex.  So, as Will is finishing up 1st Grade this spring, I better get crackin'!

What I love about My Digital Studio is that it can be SO easy to put a page together.  This one I did while watching the Bachelor Season Finale last night. (yes.  I got sucked into it this year. Argh!)  When you think about it - I was able to do two things at once.  I scrapbooked and watched tv!  Multi-tasking at it's finest!  Seriously tho.  Once the kiddos go to bed, the hubs and I usually relish in the quiet house.  We veg for that last hour of the night.  But, if I'm not doing something, I fall right asleep. That's a good time for me to be catching up on scrapping.  All snuggled up on the couch with my laptop and a blanket!

I really love how this page turned out, and with a couple of different MDS kits, it came together in a breeze.  Here's what I used:

Background
     Designer Series Paper\_Designer Kits\Lemonade Stand - designer series paper\Lemonade Stand - 6

Embellishments
    _Designer Kits\Family Fun Photobook - elements\Family Fun Photobook - circle top 2

Designer Series Paper\_Designer Kits\Delight in the Day - designer series paper\Delight in the Day - 8
Designer Series Paper\_Designer Kits\Delight in the Day - designer series paper\Delight in the Day - 9

As you can see - most everything came from one of 3 kits - Back to School, Delight in the Day or Family Fun Photobook.  The elements in these three kits worked so well together!

Now - go check out what Stampin' Up! is releasing for My Digital Studio Downloads today!  I must say, the Seriously Teen kit is going right into my shopping cart!  I might not have a teen at the moment, but some of these elements will work regardless!

Technical Tuesday!

Hey there!  Gosh - after a crazy, but fun filled, weekend, I've got a lot of catching up to do around here!

This week I've had a little bit of fun with My Digital Studio and created something to frame.  However, I've been having so much trouble with my printer....it may take me a while to get it to print!  I could send it off to Stampin' Up! to be printed, but I want it NOW, and my printer does a dang good job of printing (when it works!).  So.  Hopefully, I can get this printed and framed and then I'll show you a finished product.

In the meantime....I wanted these snowmen to hold something in their hands - and this string of Christmas lights was perfect.  Except - it was in a straight line.  But with the mds2 version, you can crop embellishments, and that's just what I did!  In fact, I cropped it into 4 different sections and then strung it all back together.  It was a bit tricky, but nothing over the top difficult.

Here's a video tutorial from Stampin' Up! on how to do this:

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has weekly challenges with My Digital Studio?  You can win free downloads - but you can't win if you don't play along!  You can find find the information HERE.  Then be sure to upload your project and tag it with Holiday Project.

Technical Tuesday - My Digital Studio

Hi there!  Can you tell, I'm kinda getting back in the swing of things!  After all, it's only Tuesday and I've posted 3 times already this week!!  Yippee!!!

Today, I'm back with a My Digital Studio tip.  This one comes with a video tutorial from Stampin' Up!  (below)  One of the new features in MDS2 is the fact that you can rip paper for that great torn edge look.  You can see that I used this technique on the page above - on the orange/vanilla houndstooth designer paper on the left side.  I'm loving this feature, because if you don't like the way your "tore" the paper the first time, you can tear it again!  It's awesome.

If you aren't using My Digital Studio, what are you waiting for??  This program has a multitude of projects you can create - from scrapbooks to cards to journals to party/home decor! AND - the best part - it's quite easy to use.  With a great resource - http://mydigitalstudio.net - you've got hundreds of tutorials and THOUSANDS of member ideas to inspire you.  Wanna give it a try?  Download the trial version today!

Technical Tuesday

Good Morning to you!  I was kinda sad when I turned on my 'puter this morning and there weren't any new My Digital Studio downloads.  It's one thing that I really really look forward to on a Tuesday.  I mean; it's TUESDAY!   What else do we really have to look forward to?  Tacos.  Not usually.  Oh well.  Guess that means I'll be more excited next Tuesday when the downloads are released.

Today tho, I'm sharing with you a project that was one of our Make and Takes at Leadership.  We all love Make and Takes right - even us demos.  It's great when everything is pre-planned and pre-cut and we can just assemble.  Even this number.  I didn't get thru all of my M&T's - I was too busy gabbing (surprise, surprise!).  I think I only got 3 of them done and there were like 12 or something like that.  Ya - they really, REALLY spoil us!  Anyway.....

I made this when I got back.  What does it have to do with Technical Tuesday or MDS????  Well, the phrase was designed in MDS and printed by the SU printers.  All of the MDS printing that I have done has been printed at home, but when I touched and felt what the SU printers do, I was highly impressed!  The quality is top-notch.  Duh!  It is Stampin' Up!  What don't they do that's top-notch???
So, this is a little hybrid project - a pleasant mix of digital and paper crafting.  Isn't it awesome?  We need to keep in mind that with MDS - you can create til your hearts content.  With this the possibilities are truly endless!
I was fortunate - it so happened that I already had a white/vanilla frame to put this one in.  As soon as I saw it, I knew immediately that it was going to go in my daughter, Aubrie's room.  She has some SU vinyl on her wall that says "We are too great for small dreams" and I thought this was quite fitting!  I was thrilled and a bit surprised when I showed it to her and she was in awe - she did a little "awwww" and then I told her that we should put it in her room.  She grabbed my hand and led me up the stairs.  It was a sweet moment - and so gratifying to see that her little 20 month old mind was very appreciative of this!

Aren't those flowers and gems cute?  They both come from the Occassions Mini - Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit (p. 18).  And what a steal - you get two 12x12 pages of printed, die cut flowers - and they are printed on BOTH sides - one side is patterened and the other is plain.  Plus you get these pink gems in two sizes - all for just 9.95.  For this flower, I encircled the big gem with the little ones.  Just one more way you can change things up!  You can get some for yourself by going to my online store - http://jenarkfeld.stampinup.net .  And don't forget - Sale-A-Bration starts today! An added bonus for your $50 orders!  Happy shopping!

Technical Tuesday

Hiddy Ho!  I'm back today for another edition of Technical Tuesday.  And since I will be hoping a plane to San Antonio today for Stampin' Up's Leadership Conference, I have scheduled this post ahead of time.  Much like most of the posts you'll read the rest of the week.

Some of you requested some tutorials on My Digital Studio, and since Stampin' Up! provides us with some wonderful tutorials, I'm just going to share one of their videos with you.  I may put quite a few of these up over time as they are SO helpful.  Sit back and enjoy!  Hope you learn something!!!

Me + My Digital Studio = FUN!

Did you know that My Digital Studio is compatible with other digi embellishments and papers out on the market? I know that Stampin' Up! has a TON of embellies and such, but I was looking for some more things like doilies and flowers and pennants and what not. So, I went for a search. I landed at Two Peas in a Bucket and bought a couple of digi packages. I didn't want to get a lot for fear that they wouldn't be compatible. I wasn't going to be overly sad if I was out $4, so took the plunge. I also spent the weekend searching for some online digital scrapbooking classes to educate myself a little more. Well, in my research, I noticed that those classes all seem to revolve around Photoshop in some way, shape, or form. I HAVE Photoshop, I use it to edit my photos. But, I have to tell you this. My Digital Studio is BY FAR much easier to use and manipulate. Stampin' Up! thought of all of us when they developed this program. I really appreciate the ease of use of MDS. And I'm sure that I could TRY to learn Photoshop a little more, but for the cost of the online classes, no thanks! I could have paid for MDS 3 times over. Plus, it's pretty darn self explanitory to use, and if you get stuck - I'm just a phone call away! I'll help you, walk you thru issues, for FREE! I am your tech support. And if I don't know the answers, Stampin' Up! has great helpers that will help too - for FREE!

That page above I made in MDS. Most of the elements are from another source. The background paper is SU, but it was quite easy to add those other items in. The page below is almost all SU. I am diggin' the new tapes they have available. So real looking, and such a fun touch. While I still like a "real" scrapbook page, I am falling very quickly in love with digi scrapping. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get more pages done before my kids graduate - which is 12 years from now. But at this rate, I'm already 5 years behind!!! :)

Keep in mind - today is the last day to sign up as a demonstrator and receive a 30% off discount on the Digital Starter Kit! Don't delay any longer! Contact me and I can guide you thru the sign up process!

My Digital Studio Release!

Hi all! Have you been checking out some of the new releases for the My Digital Studio program? Every Tuesday Stampin' Up! has been releasing new papers, new stamp brushes, new embellishments. Some of these items are exclusive to My Digitial Studio - at least as far as I know. Last week there was some tape embellishments that are - ummm - really awesome. If you keep up with paper crafting trends, you know that decorative tape is HOT! Well, the digital tape comes in several colors and several "tear" images. Some torn pieces are overlapping each other, some are long torn edges, etc. I was playing with these last night, and was able to "color" the inside portion of a dress. ( I'll post the card later today if I get the chance )

Anyway, there are so many cool techniques I've been learning with MDS, I think it's time to share! I'll be hosting another class on MDS soon. Just need to book the meeting room and I'll let you know. In the meantime, go check out all of the newest releases here.

Two More Days to Save! + My Digital Monday

Hiya! You still have two days left to save big on my website!

The one big item you may want to consider is My Digital Studio. It is half off, and only until tomorrow! There are also several digital downloads that are on sale! I've been hearing from several of you that already have MDS, and are loving it! This is great to hear. I asked one customer yesterday, who bought MDS after struggling with Snapfish, if she thought it was easier and quicker than Snapfish. Her response? Yes and a lot cheaper, I am happy! She whipped up an entire album and sent it to the printer - she's only had her software for about a week and a half!!! How's that for ease of use? I didn't have to guide her but on how to get it to the printer. Another customer - she's done 40 pages in 2 days! YEAH - 40 PAGES!!!

Need to get rocking on a graduation album? This will get you there!

Need a gift idea for a tween or teen? This is sure to be a hit!

Wanna make some awesome, one of a kind gifts? MY DIGITAL STUDIO BABY!!!

Speaking of gifts....here I dittied up a journal cover in MDS - wouldn't this make a sweet new baby gift???

Just need to print it and attach it to a journal. And guess what folks? Other than the picture - this was already done within the software - it was a designer template. I just added the pic. Easy Peasy!
So, hop on over to my website and get some of your holiday shopping DONE!!!
That's all for today folks!

The return of.....ME! and My Digital Monday....

How does the phrase go??? Abscence makes the heart grow fonder??? Or does it just make you forget that I have a blog? I really am sorry for my abscence. Life has been crazy busy around here - I've had several workshops, Stamp Clubs, an Open House, a cute little three year old's birthday party in the last 2 1/2 weeks, and the ol' bloggo just went by the wayside....something's gotta give right? However, I've been loading and reloading my Etsy shop. Things are finally moving over there, and that just tickles me pink! People all over the states are enjoying my craftiness. This card is one of the latest creations I put on the Etsy Shop, and it's also a My Digital Studio product.

I took this picture last year during a break from one of our SEVERAL snow storms. It just seemed fitting to turn it into a Christmas card. So, I placed the picture on my workspace, and simply "punched" a couple of pieces of cardstock, and then stamped with the sentiment. I printed it, then adhered to some cardstock, added a button (cuz, HELLO - I had to embellish with SOMETHING!) Then added a phrase to the inside. Viola - done! These were so simple, that I made four of them at once, and packaged them up to sell in a package.

This is much more stunning in person.....photos don't do justice.....
While I have a busy week again - two workshops, Stamp Club, Preschool Program, and a Vendor fair....I will be back. I'm doing a blog hop with Taylored Expressions later this week!

My Digital Monday!

Hello! Gosh, I almost forgot to post this today! I feel like it's been a whirlwind morning! I've got a babe that is overly clingy today (anyone have any tips on how to fix this?) She won't take a bottle for me, for her dad, for grandma or anyone!, she cries the second I leave the room, and doesn't like to be left anywhere. Don't get me wrong - I love her to pieces, but trying to get anything accomplished is next to impossible. She's got to get over this!!! And I've got to figure out how to get her to take a bottle! We'll be working on that one all week. She'll be at Grandma's all day Saturday, so she's gonna need to drink.

Anyway - here is this week's digi project. These are pictures that my sister-in-law had taken of her daughter ( our niece) Lia. As Will puts it - "she's the cutest ever"! , he says that about Aubrie too..... But Lia is a doll. And it was so much fun to put together a girly page. This one was super quick. Just grabbed the background paper, placed my pics, added some ribbon (which was great to be able to stretch quite a bit wider than what it actually comes), threw on some flowers. Done. Seriously. That easy.

That's it folks, I gotta keep moving!

My Digital Monday!

Howdy Folks! It's My Digital Monday - and I want you to know, I quickly created these 2 pages this morning with pics that I took yesterday on our outing. I had to wait for Aubrie to lay down for her morning nap, so want you to know that creating digitally IS really quick and easy! If I wasn't in such a hurry to get these pages uploaded to the ol' bloggy, I would have photoshopped them so you could see them side by side. (hence the lone 'n' on the second page - when you put the pages together, it would say "Orchard Fun" across the bottom!) Just imagine in your head that they are side-by side! The simplicity here is that I used pages that are already designed as far as the sketch is concerned. I did add the pic of Aubrie that is laid on top of the other pics. I also added all of the elements, stamped images (leaves and title) and paper options. All I started with was a blank page, that showed me where to put my photos. Then I duplicated that page and flipped it, to have symmetrical pages. I'm that kinda person - I like things in order - just don't look at my craft room! It's the exception! Anyway - these two pages probably took me a whopping 30 minutes to create. And one thing I love about this program, I can flip my photos. You know the age old rule that the people in your photos should be pointing toward the center of your album - ie: one the right hand page, subjects should be facing left. Well, with this program, it's a click of a button to flip your photo to accomodate that rule! I love that! Cropping is easy, adding elements is easy.
My deal for you today (since it's my birthday week!), if you order My Digital Studio, I will send you a package of buttons of your choice! Can you say hybrid pages??? (Hybrid pages are digital pages that you print, then add actual embellishments to)
For those of you that took advantage of my 10 for 10 deal yesterday - thank you! I am mailing out your $10 gift certificates today - watch for those in the mail!
Get your My Digital Studio ordered today! Contact me to do so!

My Digital Monday!

Can you say EASY!!! This is a card that I created in MDS in less than 5 minutes. In fact, I could have done it in less time than that. but I was watching Brothers and Sisters too. This is simply a designer template, so it was already done. I did add a strip of Choc. Chip "cardstock" behind the already designed Vanilla panel. Then added a button and drop shadowed it. Easy Peasy, print and send....Wanna learn more about My Digital Studio? Contact me today - and be sure to check out the new MDS website and contest too!

Gotta run, off to a funeral....

Really? October 1st - already???

Well, October is here. And I want to tell EVERYONE about the Stamp Out Parkinson's event that I am sponsoring! This is near and dear to me - my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2007. We need to work to find a cure for this dibilitating disease. I am hoping to make this event an annual tradition, so am hoping for a fabulous response. You can click on the above flyer to see the details better, and I'd like each and everyone of you to join us for a fun filled day of paper crafting. We will have lots of room to spread out. The scrapbooking tables are 10 foot long, and I've already been taking reservations for scrappers. Call me to book your table NOW, you don't want to miss out!
Proceeds from this event will go to the American Parkinson's Disease Association (http://www.apda.com/) . They are a non-profit working to ease the burden and find a cure. I have been working with them to put this event on. Sam Erwin of the Iowa Chapter of the APDA will be stopping by to chat with you, and to give her support.

My Digital Monday!

Here is today's digital page.... from Will's 4th Birthday. I think I'm quickly falling in love with Digital Scrapping. It's a lot quicker than hands on. However, I do still like the look and feel of real embellies on a page. For that reason, I left the journaling off on this page because, I may handwrite it, or I will type it and cut it out in strips which might get popped up for some dimension. I also think I could add a few buttons onto the round embellies. But, I'm getting photos scrapped and will probably put them to a DVD for some Christmas gifts this year. What a great thing to give the Grandparents that already have everything!
FYI - those of you that already have My Digital Studio, there are some new products that you can add. And, be sure to update your system so that you can include the new colors, which Stampin' Up! is giving you for FREE!!!
And, did you know, you can add other digi things from other sites. Say you find a digi paper pack over at your fave online store - well, pay for it, download it, unzip it and get to town!!! Scrap away! Next week on MDM, look for something that's NOT a scrapbook page!!!
Oh, and stay tuned this week. Now that my week is a little quieter, I have a BUNCH of cool projects to show you....you will be in awe!
That's all for now folks.....
