A Nice Cuppa - Stampin' Up! + Blog Candy!

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I've created a colorful card for you - using the A Nice Cuppa stamp set.  It was chilly here in Iowa today - and a nice cuppa - coffee - is what I was after today!

I embossed the cup image with Black embossing powder, then colored in the words with markers.  I love the way this makes the words really pop!

I added the little "and you" tea tag, using some Melon Mambo twine to make it appear like it was coming out of the top cup.

Did you notice the background that this was set on.....move over watercolor - I'm finding lots of fun using stencils!  I think it adds such a nice subtle texture to the card without overpowering the focal point the way that designer papers sometimes can.  (have you noticed that I don't use much DSP anymore.  I'm just finding it harder and harder to use without competing with my creations!)

Would love to hear what you think of today's card!  Leave me a comment.  One lucky commenter will receive a special package in the mail from me!  (Deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 24th)

Thanks for stopping by today!

I love your card and coffee anything. I also think its great that you use stencils, I haven't tried it yet but it seems like using a stencil is actually prettier than dsp.

Stenciling is one of my goals for this year - I have yet to jump on that bandwagon! I love how you embossed this stamp in black and colored the words with the bright inks. This card will make someone smile. I have really been enjoying your blog and videos. Thanks for the inspiration.
