It was a cold and snowy weekend here in Iowa. I was pretty much housebound - and my schedule was actually cleared up, because Will's basketball game was cancelled on Saturday.
That meant I could work on some of the projects on my To-Do list!
This was one of them.
This one took a little time - partially because I watched Legends of the Fall as I worked on it. And, pardon me, but it's not one of those movies I can just listen to (I can do that with a lot of shows!) There is some good eye candy in the movie - probably my favorite Brad Pitt movie ever.
But let's chat about my project.....
I started off with a 12x12" piece of pine board, and painted it with some "Coastal Cabana" acrylic paint. I'm not quite sure of the actual color....but we'll stick with Coastal Cabana. Once that was dry, I adhered several little flowers that I had cut from Gingham Garden DSP. Yep. That's right. I cut them out. By hand.
I also cut a large "A" with my Silhouette using Melon Mambo cardstock.
I glued the flowers and "A" in place using multipurpose glue. Then went over the top of the entire board with Mod Podge.
Last came the task of constructing all of the flowers. I was able to cut 6 flowers from a single sheet of cardstock using the Spiral Flower Die from Stampin' Up!....it took quite a few sheets.
I'm thrilled with the way it turned out - and even more so - is Aubrie....she was in dire need of some artwork in her room. When I finished her "A" - she exclaimed, "Oh Mommy, it's wonderful! Me love it!" Now we just need to get it hung up....
Would love to hear your thoughts!
