Creation Station: It's Christmas Time!

Good Morning!  Welcome to our December Blog Hop - this month we are focusing on the Holidays!  We'll be highlighting projects created with the Peaceful Pines Bundle and the Embellished Ornaments Bundle.  

I've decided to use the Embellished Ornaments bundle today.....but, here's the scoop.  I've only used the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits.  What I love about this bundle is that the Thinlits work SO well on their own - you don't HAVE to use the stamp set.  Here's my first project - a set of gift tags:

I've paired these ornaments up with two other stamp sets - Oh What Fun and Berry Merry.  I really like all of the fun building elements in Berry Merry.  So, I mounted several of them onto a block and stamped them a bunch of times.  Then....sat with a good tv show and fussy cut them out!  I really don't mind fussy cutting - it's like therapy.

Once again - I die cut just the ornaments.  The Pool Party ornament I backed with a plain White one, otherwise, it was going to be too busy with the green one showing thru the back.  

I used the Merry from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits, with the coordinating Holly Jolly Greeting Stamp Set for the Christmas portion.  That is simply heat embossed in white on black.  I feel like this combo really draws your eye to the focal point.  

 Once again, I used the little bits from the Berry Merry set - I had PLENTY leftovers from the tags!

This is all placed on a card front that's got a panel from the Winter Wonderland Vellum Stack. I love the snowflake look in gold!

Creation Station!!! New Design Team....we're Thankful!

Welcome to the Creation Station!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators ready to inspire you, and to tap into your creative spirit.  Once a month, we'll showcase a group of products or design with a theme in mind, all to get your creative juices flowing!  We have an amazing Design Team, so be sure to use the buttons at the bottom of this post to cruise along to the other talented members' blogs.  Prepare to be inspired! 

For my first card - I used the Lighthearted leaves set - embossing the images with clear embossing powder to give the leaves some shine.  I'm seriously in love with these leaves - just love the look.

I inlaid the "thanks" right into the leaf with some gold glimmer paper - gold and fall just goes together - am I right?

Pairing the leaves on top of a Mossy Meadow card base just made those colored leaves pop.  Add some designer paper, burlap trim, a gold button and this card is done!

For my next card, I went with a more "artistic" approach.  

It's not quite what I envisioned.....but it's not bad.....

I started off by heat embossing the leaves in gold on watercolor paper.  Then I watercolored the circles in Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey.  I wanted it to radiate....but didn't quite get the look I was going for.  However, I still like the look of it - it's just -----different!

How to create a Step Card - Wonderland Stamp Set

Hey stampers!  I've got a really pretty card to share with you today.  And a video to go along with it.  

Today's card features the Wonderland Stamp Set from Stampin' Up.  You may have passed this set over because it's got the antlers in the set - and you've told yourself that you love the trees, but just don't know what to do with the antlers.  I've got a little solution for the antlers that I'll share next week! (wink wink!)

For now, tho, let's concentrate on the trees.  Because they are super gorgeous!

I wish you could FEEL the card.  The trees have texture to them - largely in part because of the white gel pen I used to highlight the branches.

Reason for the Season Cafe Bag Makeover!

I love gorgeous packaging for the holidays!  And....I love that I can create some myself.  The Reason for the Season set from Stampin' Up! really makes this a breeze. 

I'll admit - I wasn't going to order this set or punch.  It was almost last on my wish list.  I think next catalog, I'll shop from my wish list in reverse order.  Cuz, I love this set now.  And the punch.  And all that you can do with it!  It's to die for!  

I mean - c'mon - check out this poinsettia....

I think it's beautiful.  The little bag is now perfect for giving a small gift - some lotion....homemade cookies....candies....perfume....

Reason for the Season

Well....Hello!  It's been a while.  A lot has changed around here.  

I've got a new craft room - half the size of my old one, but brighter, and more efficient.  It there was a show on small craft spaces, I could probably win a medal or something.  It's a mere 6 1/2' x 15 1/2'.  Think galley kitchen.  But.  It's so bright - I just love that, and I can see the comings and goings of the countryside.  Which is.....well, pretty nil.  Except for some combines and tractors. 

Anyway - I've got a great card for you today - and a video!

 

This card is so quick to create - a great one for mass producing.  Plus it looks so good in real life.
