So Very Grateful

When I first saw this new So Very Grateful stamp set in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog, I was instantly drawn to it.  Maybe because of the whimsical style, or the fact that I knew I'd love to color it.

I chose not to color it today in the traditional way - in theme with this month's Technique Stamp Club.  We are coloring on vellum.  Personally, I think this one resembles stained glass.

When the card is setting open, you can't see the sentiment that appears thru the window - but when it's laying flat, it appears.  It makes it a little fun I think.

We added some Bitty Banners from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration catalog to jazz it up a bit.

If you'd like to know step-by-step how I created this - stay tuned for information about my upcoming Online Technique Class!  I'll be posting the info next week.  So, hang onto your hats!

In the meantime, I'd love to hear what you think!  Leave me some comment love would ya!  Just click on the "comment" link below my signature.

Back to Reality.....ugh!

I really don't mind reality!  It's just a run here and run there type of life!  I was quickly reminded how cold it is back in Iowa as I delivered orders this morning!  The wind!  It just ripped right thru you.  I don't like that!

My Stampin' Up! Leadership roomie informed me that our photo made it onto Shelli's blog today!  How cool is that?  Here's the pic:

We were really having THAT much fun - and this was a kit that we got at our Make & Take night.  I really hope some of you will decide to join me next year at our Leadership Convention.  There is SO much to love - the friendships, the inspiration, the sharing....so if you think that you'd like to join me in this venture, please, PLEASE contact me - I'd love to have you on my team!

And....if you aren't already receiving Paper Pumpkin kits in the mail, let me share with you a couple of tidbits!

First off - sign up before February 10th and you'll get a free set of markers in your first kit!
Secondly - I'm going to be quite honest with you.  I just about cancelled my Paper Pumpkin kit.  Frankly, I thought it was slightly lacking.   But, at Stampin' Up! Leadership, we were able to have a sneak peak at the February and March kits.  I will not be canceling my membership now!  They are amazing!  The kits are double in content, making the value so much better - well, twice as much!  I know that you'll love the improved kits also, so be sure to sign up at www.mypaperpumkin.com and you'll want to list me as your demonstrator when it asks you to!

Okey doke folks.....I'm off until tomorrow - gotta go play with some of my favorite stampers this evening!  Yippee!!!

Get Well Soup....

Well - good day!

How's everyone doing today?  Hopefully well....but if not, or if you know someone that's not doing well, here's a great little pick-me-up!

Today I've created a gift tag that can easily be attached to a can of soup for you to give to someone that is under the weather.  As my friend Michele says - you can put anything in a cello bag and make it look like a grand gift!

So that's what I did - there's a can of Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup in there!

Cute - right?
The tag was quite easy to create.  I colored stamped and colored on a piece of vellum - something I will be teaching my Stamp Club members  this month.
Guess what - you too, will soon have the opportunity to learn what my Stamp Club members learn, so watch for more of the information to come next Tuesday!
I'll be showing some more projects using this technique later this week.

More good stuff!

Hey all!  I've just got some great photos to share with you today. No real big announcements yesterday- so let's see what today brings at Stampin' Up! Leadership....

Until then check out these pics:

Heading home!

Good morning friends!  I'm sitting in St. Louis now and thought I'd share a few more Photos from Stampin' Up! Leadership 2014!  Is that ok with you?

First off- this was the group of gals that we hung out with for the most part - most of them new friends!!!  L-R: front: Joanna from SC!; me; Laurie from Canada; Liana ( my longtime roomie!!!) from Phoenix; back: Michele from CA and Daune from CA. We had a great last night together and ate at Pappas BBQ - it was Delish!
This was my ribs and brisker!  Yum!  But many of the gals had loaded baked potatoes:
Yeah - that is seriously a potato! Possibly on steroids!!!
After we are we went to see some flamenco dancers and they were so mesmerizing!  Captivating and incredible!
I know you can't really see much in this photo. But it was awesome!

I'm sure you'd like to see something created from paper today tho right?

Stampin' Up! had "Card Wars" among those who wanted to participate. We were to use the stamps that have been included in past Paper Pumpkin kits. It was fun but challenging too, as our supplies were limited. And I'm not kidding. No Tombow!  This girl was missin her multipurpose liquid glue!  Any way....after much deliberation and consulting with another new friend -Sarah Nabor - I came up with this:

Sarah also had an amazing card (I wish I would have snapped a pic of hers, so if you are reading this Sarah, please send me a photo!!!) - we were both completely surprised that our cards weren't chosen as winners!  Because we seriously had it going on!

I was really sad to have Leadership end this year. (Although I'm ready to get home to my little family!!)  it was so great to meet so many new faces and build stronger relationships with those I've met in the past ( *heart* you Liana!!!). Stampin' Up! is truly a wonderful company to be a part of - mostly because of these great friends I am meeting. They are bringing this somewhat shy gal out of her shell!!!  I really couldn't be happier!

Leadership!!!!

Howdy ya'all from Houston!  Gotta be quick this morning as we'll be heading to the convention center soon for some more great things!

Did you see my announcement on Facebook?  Stampin' Up! will have their own version of Copics very soon!  My coloring fetish is about to take a turn to heaven! I've always wanted to invest in Copics but never took the plunge - I'm soooo glad!  We'll have a great price point on these two. Packs of 3 will be $11.95. Very reasonable. We'll start with 12 color combos:
There will also be a set of 6 flesh tones and a color remover.  Exciting right!!!!

We've also got some really REALLY COOL photopolymer sets and personalized stamps coming too.

Now. Since I need to dash have a quick glimpse at some display boards.

Oh HAPPY Day!

What's not to be happy about?  I'm among several hundred women and a few men that share the same hobby as I do.
I'm hoping to learn some great new tips and tricks. Hopefully I come back with some new ideas to keep all of you inspired. What am I saying?  I KNOW I'll come back with lots of ideas.

For now I'll share one of my swap cards with you.

This uses that great new Starburst Sayings set and coordinating dies. Plus I threw in some sequin trim and splashes of sparkly spritz ( made with shimmer paint and rubbing alcohol).

What do you think? Keep in mind this photo is unedited and when I took it things were dark and dreary in Iowa. My pictures then have a "color cast" to them that I can't remove from my phone. These seem to have pink cast.... Oh well!

Don't mind that - just let me know whatcha think!

On my way...

....to warmer (hopefully) weather.  Houston here I come!  That's where our Stampin' Up! Leadership is this year. I can't wait!  Time to meet up with some old friends and I hope to make some new ones too.  For the time being, and I I sit waiting in the airport, I'll share a recent project with you. Just keep in mind these photos are unedited and it's been dreary in Iowa so the colors may appear off a bit!

So - these pop up cards have been rather popular and I made several at Christmas time to sell at Craft Fairs, etc. I made adjustments to mine tho so that it would pop up a gift card!

I decided to create more for my Etsy shop - this was the first. I'll have more over there when I return to the tundra.

I hope to post often from Leadership so please stay tuned. They may come in bits and pieces. And it may even be easier to post to my Facebook page - so be sure that you are following Stamped Silly on Facebook!

That's it for now folks!

Time to play - with Starburst Sayings!

Howdy!  I've been feeling my groove come back to me....it's such a great feeling.  And oh, how I've missed it.  I don't like when I get that dreaded Creator's Block.  It aggravates me.

But now, I feel like the flame has been lit again.  I feel renewed and ready to roll.

I headed over to the Clean & Simple Stamping blog to see what their challenge was this week, and decided to play along.  Here's what I came up with:

As I look back at it now, I think I could have added one layer under the patterned paper.  I really love our new, thicker, and gold "infused" baker's twine.

The gold sequins - to die for!  I used a drop of Tombow Multipurpose Glue to adhere them, I may go for glue dots next time tho.  It might be easier.

How about that stamp set tho - Starburst Sayings!  So much fun - I've got some great ideas rollin' thru my little head now - so stay tuned for more from that set!  I even used it to create one of my swaps for the Houston Leadership.

That's right - this gal is leaving the TUNDRA for some warm weather and (hopefully) sunny skies.

I was slightly disappointed when I saw the temps weren't going to be much above 70 when I'm there, but quickly reminded myself, that's 70 degrees warmer than it is here in Iowa right now - and if I am to factor in the wind chill - it's 90 - 100 degrees warmer!!!  So, nevermind that disappointment....I'll take 70!
