Mini Memories - with a twist~!

Hey there!  I *actually* had time this week to create a card for a sketch challenge!  GASP!

I can't tell you what a good feeling that is!  I love a good sketch challenge - and this week I decided to play along with the crew at Freshly Made Sketches.

I've been playing around with the Mini Memories Simply Created Album kit.  You can find it HERE.  There are some great elements in the kit - lots of die cut images and some gorgeous Designer Paper (like the one that I used on my card)  I'm actually working on a fun little project that I'll post here this weekend when I get it all finished up.

In the meantime, I created a card to go with my project and used Freshly Made Sketches design.

Here is their sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I really like how the piece of Gold Dotted Vellum softens the designer paper.  And doesn't this card scream SPRING!!!  Ah....to have spring!  Seems like a dream.

I created the flower using the Pansy Punch and Calypso Coral card stock.  Then just curled the petals with my bone folder.  Added an In Color Dahlia to the center....done!

The gold dotted vellum is so fantastic layered over the floral DSP! I love the way it softens the DSP at the same time it provides a pop all on its own! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!

Hi Jen,

Beautiful card! I think your clever use of gold also brings out the colors of the patterned paper. What a stunning card.
