Video: Manic Monday! Crazy About You

Happy Monday friends!  Today's Manic Monday card has a fun stripe technique to it!  I'm kinda diggin' it!

I created this card with the challenge over at CAS(e) this Sketch in mind.  Here's their sketch:

It looked like a perfect sketch for a Manic Monday - and it certainly is - however, this week's video is went over my 10 min. "time limit".  I think it could be made in 10 tho.... I just went chatting to much!

Here's the video:

I hope you enjoyed this week's card and that you'll try out that striped technique for yourself!

A Nice Cuppa - Stampin' Up! + Blog Candy!

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I've created a colorful card for you - using the A Nice Cuppa stamp set.  It was chilly here in Iowa today - and a nice cuppa - coffee - is what I was after today!

I embossed the cup image with Black embossing powder, then colored in the words with markers.  I love the way this makes the words really pop!

I added the little "and you" tea tag, using some Melon Mambo twine to make it appear like it was coming out of the top cup.

Did you notice the background that this was set on.....move over watercolor - I'm finding lots of fun using stencils!  I think it adds such a nice subtle texture to the card without overpowering the focal point the way that designer papers sometimes can.  (have you noticed that I don't use much DSP anymore.  I'm just finding it harder and harder to use without competing with my creations!)

Would love to hear what you think of today's card!  Leave me a comment.  One lucky commenter will receive a special package in the mail from me!  (Deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 24th)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Made with Love...

All of our handmade creations are Made with Love - right?  And this little stamp set from Stampin' Up! with the same name is just so sweet.  I adore the little critters in the set - and I think they get overlooked more than they should.

This card was created with one of my downline in mind.  She became a Grandma for the first time on Valentine's Day.  I know she's been looking forward to this day for a long time.  And as a first time grandparent - she's due a special card too - right?  I think so!

I broke out my stars mask (stencil) for this one too.  Something that also gets neglected in my craft room.  I have a feeling you'll be seeing a little more from these stencils tho.  Just warning you!

The sweet little deer was colored using blender pens and my ink pads on watercolor paper.  I like the way a blender pen works on the watercolor paper - it doesn't pill up the paper like regular cardstock does.  Plus, because the tips of the blender pen are more stiff than an aqua painter, it's a little easier to color.  Once I had "her" all colored, I added the eye and mouth back in with a black marker, and also whitened up the spots with my gel pen.  A Wink of Stella brush pen sparkled up the little bow, giving the deer some bling!

I think this is really a sweet card - what are your thoughts?  Have you used this set before?
