Creation Station: Occasions Catalog Kickoff!

Hi All!!!  Welcome to our first Creation Station Blog Hop of 2016. This month we're all featuring our "favorites" from the upcoming Occasions Catalog (which will go live on January 5th).   I haven't had a lot of time to play with some of my new things - and wasn't really sure what my favorite is.....but what I seem to be drawn to the most is the Rose Wonder stamps and the Rose Garden Thinlits.  

I have several projects that I've been working on with this bundle.  Up first - a wedding card.  

Much like yesterday's card - this one is clean and simple on the outside.  I simply die cut the flower images from the Rose Garden Thinlits from Gold Foil paper.  I adhered these to a Calypso Coral card base, that I had first stamped around the edges with the new Timeless Textures stamp set.  I wanted the sentiment to stand out and that was hard to do against the foil paper, so I added the vellum strip.  I really liked the way it soften everything up.  However, I needed a way to cover up the vellum on the inside!  

That led to this:

 I created an envelope from the Gift Card envie die and it worked perfectly!  

One thing I LOVE about the Rose Wonder set is it's sentiments.  The fonts, the sentiments that work for the insides....it's all good!

This next card is a little different - but much fun!  

For this one - I used the flower as my card front.  It was  little tricky to do - but I love the look in the end.  I used some Sale-A-Bration DSP for the inside of the card so that the color shows thru when it's closed. I didn't take a pic of the inside of the front - but I doubled up the portion where the Happy Birthday is stamped so that the same shape is on this inside.  That help keeps things clean on the inside.

Ok - time for the last card - and personally my favorite!

For this one, I went with a "no-line" watercolor technique.  I wanted the card to be soft - and sometimes when you stamp the outline image in black or even basic gray, it's too dark, and you have those lines that really pop out.  So, for this I inked the image in Smoky Slate and stamped it off before I stamped it on my watercolor paper. 

I used three different colors for the flower - Rose Red, Watermelon Wonder, and Calypso Coral.  The leaves are simple in Mossy Meadow.  

I used my new Wink of Stella pens to flick some splatters on the card - they added the perfect splatters, but they are also shimmery too!  (it shows better in the first pic)  The gold really stayed dark in places, and the clear was a little gold in spots - depending on how thick the splatter was.

Since the sentiment was embossed in gold, I decided that I needed to balance that out with some little strips of gold foil paper.
