Kindness...it does matter!

Howdy folks.  I'm sharing a card with you today that the gals in my Stamp Club made this month.  We worked on partial die cuts - it might have been a little frustrating for some, but the results are really great!

In essence, in creates a swing card, which is super cool.  I love the way this one turned out.

Sorry - I'm not much for words tonight - I'm shelled out!  Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Time for some Cocktails!

I'm having a lil' Crafts and Cocktails party next Friday night and needed to come up with some little party favors to hand out.  I had noticed that Crystal Light had come out with some new drink flavors and thought I'd dream up something to do with those.  Not a problem...I used the colors in the packets themselves as inspiration.

For this first one, I used my Silhouette to cut out a fancy library pocket type of thing....then I had to alter the dimensions.  I would have done this in the program itself, and I tried but couldn't figure it out and got too impatient.  So I just cut it down to the size I wanted.

I wrapped it with a piece of cardstock that I embossed with our Chevron EF.  Had to run it thru twice in two directions to make it go the entire length of the cardstock, but it worked. I layered on a doily that I created with my spanky new Delicate Doilies Die.  I almost didn't buy this die because the dimensions in the catty are WRONG!  I thought the largest doily was gonna be super small, but it is in fact a little over 3 inches in diameter!  Worth the purchase!!!!  YEAH!  I layered that with some more cardstock and stamped a margarita and fussy cut it out to layer on top.  In the end, this is a super cute little gift for someone.  Wouldn't ya say??  I'd love to receive this.  I'll give them out at my party - but I'm thinking a great hostess gift  or something....
And that leads me to my second little cocktail package:

I think I'm even more smitten with this one. A little more of my own collaboration.  No Silhouette here folks. Just some good ol' figure it out yourself....

I was inspired by a packet of Starbucks Via Coffee, but I had to do some major expansion for this one.  Those lil' coffee packets are, well, Little.  In the end, this one was just adorable.  Again, I used the packaging as inspiration for the colors.

Stamped and fussy cut a glass of mojito, embellished....

Added a strip of cardstock cut with my new Finishing Touches Edgelits die - umm...I'm in love folks!  These dies are great!

And when you open the cuteness up:

Viola! Treasure awaits! I coulda duded up the inside flap a little more, but again, I was getting impatient!  And kids were whining for my attention.  With all that whining, I just couldn't help but wonder when 5 o'clock was going to be here!  I was salivating for a mojito!

With that being said....I'm going to go check my cupboards to see if I've got a lil' sometin, sumtin to put in these drinks!  Ta-Ta!!!

Happy Fathers Day, Campers!

Good Father's Day morning my friends!  Let me warn you right away - you just as well grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this post - it's picture heavy!!!

When I first saw the new stamp set, The Great Outdoors, I wasn't sure if it was a need or not, but I bit the bullet and got it as one of the free sets that earned during Sale-A-Bration. (That's a perk of being a demo!  I earned 7 free sets this year!!!!)  I figured if I got this as a free one, I didn't actually use any of my own $....know what I mean??  But, now, I'm so glad I have this set!  Here's a lil' somethin' I created for keeping in our camper.

We are a family that likes to go camping (in a camper - not a tent!!!)  Sometimes I feel like I'd like to look back at our adventures, but I haven't documented what we've done or where we've been.  We like to check out new campgrounds once in a while, and this little journal will help us keep track of favorite - or not so favorite - places.  And now that Will is writing, he can help contribute!

I started with a plain ol' composition notebook.  Covered the spine, and then decorated the cover.  I found myself smiling all thru-out this project because I just kept loving what it was becoming!  I just love how this cover turned out.

On the inside cover, I attached a glassine bag to hold things we may find along our journeys.  The little tab on the top says Fun Finds.  You'll notice that some of the items are non-SU.  I have a whole collection of "stuff" and was glad to put some of it to good use.

I thought it would be fun to have different sections in the journal for different memories, etc. so, I created page dividers in My Digital Studio and cut them out and attached them to some Crumb Cake cardstock.  I embellished each page divider and stuck them in the book (by gluing them to a page - and then I backed that page with some DSP because the glue bubbled up the notebook paper and looked tacky)

Here is the first page divider - Field Notes:

And right - when I'm camping I always think - It doesn't get any better than this!!!

I stamped the chair on watercolor paper and used my ink pad and an aqua painter to color.  Wish I would have done that with all of the images I watercolored.  I didn't use watercolor paper for all of them and it sure does make a big difference!!!

Another page divider and again I sewed in a glassine bag for some treasures!

Isn't that so true - These are the days...to remember!  And hopefully with our handy journal, we'll be able to look back on these adventures and memories with a happy heart!

This was a fun project and took me less than a day to create!  Something we'll treasure for a lifetime!

Have a great Fathers Day everyone!  We're off to have our annual water fights at my folks' house....

Fab Fabric Inspiration Challenge #1

Good Morning Peeps! I'm here today to share a few things with you....if you are a demo and have been on Stampin' Connection (a fine site for demos to share thoughts, inspiration, ideas - but exclusive to demos!) you may have noticed a forum post that got quite a bit of attention lately.....posted by ME!  Titled, Summer Starfruit....blech!  When I first got my new pack of the 2012-2014 In Colors, I really wondered what Stampin' Up! was thinking.....really - where did they get this color from - Summer Starfruit?  Yeah - probably from a starfruit - you're right!  But so many demos answered and showed inspiration, I changed my mind.  Summer Starfruit is HOT!  Check out this card:

It rocks the house right!  This is one we made at my local Stamp Clubs, and at first I made it without the Summer Starfruit and guess what - it was BLECH!  I added that yellow (is it yellow? is it green????) to the card and it just sang to me!  Amazing!!!
And last week while working with some Go-geous fabric (Verona from Fat Quarter Shop) for our picnic pennants, I found myself very inspired by that fabric too.
So that got me thinking....how about posting a little challenge here on the ol' bloggo???

Let's start with my inspiration for today's card:

This one came from Southern Fabric and this is Aviary Granite Fabric.  For my card I actually pulled some inspiration from Southern Fabric's logo too.  And if you browse their website, you'll notice that they use this color selection on their site!  (Summer Starfruit is HOT I'm telling you!)  This fabric and site was brought to my attention by another demo on Stampin' Connection - lots of great inspiration over there!

Here's the rules:
1) There are no rules!  ;)
2) Use the above as inspiration for your card, scrapbook page, decor item.
3) Post your photo to your blog, online gallery, etc, and link it back here, using Mr. Linky below.
4) I'll pick a favorite and post back here next Sunday.
5) YOU should also be able to vote on a favorite and I'll post those results too. (As long as I set up Mr. Linky correctly....we all know how that goes right???)
So - get posting peeps - can't wait to see what you link back!!!
